Sweetheartrose Extended Brand Story In 1866, in Boston's North End, 26-year-old pastry chef Elias Chase was going through the most memorable time of his life. He had been in love with Rose, the girl from the flower shop next door, for three years, but he was always too shy to speak out his deep affection. That spring, the roses in his backyard bloomed exceptionally well. He stayed by the copper pot passed down for two generations in his workshop, trying to mix the juice crushed from fresh rose petals into the slowly boiled sugar syrup. He kept simmering until the sugar turned into a soft pale pink glow, then pressed the cooled sugar paste into tiny heart shapes. On the first finished candy, he wrote "Sweetheart Rose" with edible frosting, planning to give this sweetness hidden with floral fragrance to Rose. Unexpectedly, this little candy full of heartfelt affection was soon discovered by the couples on the street, who all came to order heart-shaped candies printed with their exclusive confessions. Elias simply closed his small pastry shop and officially founded the candy brand Sweetheartrose, turning the scent of roses and the tender affection hidden in candies into a romance that everyone could own. More than 150 years have passed, the copper pot in the old workshop still follows the slow-boiling craftsmanship from that year, and the backyard rose garden has never been abandoned. Every heart-shaped candy sent out from here still retains the wisp of rose sweetness from the spring of 1866, gently passing the unspoken confession to the other person on behalf of countless shy people.
